The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) implemented a digital-only ticketing procedure for its regional and state final events in April 2021. In addition to improving the fan experience, digital ticketing has helped the CIF and its member schools reconcile events faster than ever before.
We recently spoke with Bobbi Madsen about digital ticketing and reconciliation procedures for schools and associations. Madsen serves as the Chief Financial Officer at the California Interscholastic Federation, and she knows exactly what it takes to close out the books after a busy playoff season. Madsen has supported tens of thousands of events during her 16-year tenure at the CIF, which serves more than 1600 member schools in California.
Watch our full interview with Madsen here:
Madsen reiterated that the CIF exists to serve member schools.
“[It’s major savings] …for schools not having to deal with all of the old archaic paperwork that we used to have to deal with: sending out tickets and then having to reconcile the tickets, and then sending them back to our office, and then we have to reconcile the tickets."
“It’s definitely streamlined the process and just brought things current. Everybody that comes to our games has a smartphone, or if they don't have one, they know somebody or they're going with somebody that does have a smartphone.”
