GoFan Fee Transparency in Minnesota

GoFan Fee Transparency in Minnesota

Minnesota lawmakers recently passed House File 1989, a new bill to improve transparency for ticket buyers. A nod to Taylor Swift’s album, the bill aims to protect consumers from hidden fees, deceptive websites, unauthorized resellers, and bots.

The law prohibits advertising a price that is less than the actual price a consumer will need to pay for a good or service. Consistent with this law, GoFan has already responded and made the required changes. No action is necessary from schools.

How GoFan Meets Fee Requirements

With GoFan, schools have the option to absorb the fee or pass the fee onto the ticket buyer. For schools that absorb the fees, nothing has changed.

For schools that pass the fee to the ticket buyer, fees are displayed upfront. Ticket buyers will see a fee-inclusive total price before starting the purchase process.
