Seeing students excel is Michael Harrison’s favorite part of his role as the Athletic Director at Ponte Vedra High School in Florida. Even when games run late, he makes a point to be there.
“A couple of years ago, our state championship lacrosse game didn’t start until 11:30 at night because of weather. It was crazy,” Harrison said. “I was there at 1:30, the game finished. People were like, ‘Why are you here?’ and I’m like, ‘This is what I do. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.’”
For fans to cherish that moment, a lot of behind-the-scenes tasks needed to take place. With GoFan and the NFHS Network, fans get an elevated game-day experience, no matter where they are.
When asked why he chose GoFan for digital ticketing, Harrison responded, “You guys are easy to work with. You make people get in and out of the game easily, validating tickets is a simple two-step process… we have QR codes, publicize online, it’s just easy.”
With digital ticketing and payments, Ponte Vedra fans can buy their tickets quickly and get in the games much faster. They can also get their tickets in advance to make sure they have a seat if the game sells out.
Even the most devoted fans can’t make it to every game, and they appreciate being able to watch their favorite teams on the NFHS Network. Friends and family members who live further away from the school also enjoy watching Ponte Vedra sports live and on demand.
“We have a pretty wide parent base and network of people that watch it online, so we’re giving them that option to be able to view,” Harrison said.
The Ponte Vedra community has witnessed many special moments and victories as they follow their favorite teams on the NFHS Network.
“We’ve been pretty good the last couple of years,” Harrison said. “As the teams travel soccer, lacrosse, basketball, people have been able to follow us, and it just makes it easy.”
