As the Athletic Director at Cairo High School in Illinois, Gregory Harris takes pride in making a difference in young people’s lives.
Harris strives to keep the Cairo High School community members such as parents, students, and alumni connected to their athletic events by live-streaming on the NFHS Network.
When asked why he chose to stream with the NFHS Network, Harris said, “Mainly for the alumni that’s out of town and players that used to play there. If they can’t make it to the game they can always watch their people live.”
Harris credits the NFHS Network with keeping his community connected. Whether it’s a home or away game, fans can stay updated with all athletics at all levels. The Cairo High School community has also expressed gratitude for the streaming capabilities of the NFHS Network.
“All the time they are like, ‘Man it’s so crystal clear, we get to see the scoreboard, we get to see the movement,’” Harris said. “Their main thing is: how does the camera move without somebody working it?… My community loves it.”
The cameras Harris mentioned are the AI-powered Pixellot cameras that automatically track the action without a camera operator. The cameras turn on at game time and instantly stream to the NFHS Network for live and on-demand viewing.
Harris not only appreciates the technology that the NFHS Network provides but also speaks highly of the customer support that comes with being an NFHS Network school.
“It’s been awesome. I had a little deal earlier this year - they were out there the next day and walked me step through step,” Harris said.
Just as he aims to provide opportunities for his community, Harris enjoys creating meaningful experiences for the kids in his program. With the NFHS Network, the Cairo High School community can stay connected, experience amazing moments, and make lifelong memories.
