In San Diego, California, playoffs are less demanding on school staff now. That’s because the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and their sections have adopted digital ticketing as the primary means for fans to purchase event tickets throughout the playoffs.
This month, GoFan spoke with Ron Marquez, the Events and Operations Manager with CIF San Diego Section, about best practices for digital ticketing in the postseason. Watch the full interview to learn more.
The State CIF office signed an exclusive agreement with GoFan in April 2021 while navigating challenging state guidelines. Essentially, the use of paper tickets was prohibited at the peak of the Covid pandemic as schools returned to play sports. CIF has continued to use digital ticketing for the past two seasons with tremendous success.
“GoFan has been a great experience. It's part of our pivoting we've had to do to adjust to what's going on nowadays with events. GoFan is a great solution for a lot of our schools and has helped us host events with reduced staff.”
- Ron Marquez, CIF San Diego Section
CIF San Diego is not alone in this. In fact, 39 high school state associations and thousands of schools nationwide have partnered with GoFan to adopt digital ticketing.
