The playoffs are here and that means championships are just around the corner. Schools, coaches, and athletic directors are working hard to make sure high school sports fans have a great experience when they come to these nail-biting games - and that all starts with the ticket stand.
With thousands of schools nationwide turning to digital ticketing for their events big and small, it's more important than ever for fans to understand just how easy (and convenient) having your ticket on your phone is.
Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association held a Zoom session with their fans to walk them through some of the nuances.
Fans may purchase their tickets online at OSSAA.com ahead of the contest they are wanting to attend. Once the link is clicked, fans will be directed to the GoFan website and will click “get tickets” on the date and host site they are looking to attend.
After the completion of the purchase, customers will receive a link to view their tickets. Simply click the link, which will bring up your digital ticket. That is what you will present to the gate worker when you enter the gym.
You can read more about how OSSAA is preparing fans for the postseason here.
New York
New York is following suit with the East Aurora Bee and Akron Beagle informing their readers to be on the lookout for all-digital ticketing with GoFan for the upcoming winter postseason championships:
Section VI will move to all-digital ticketing through GoFan for the upcoming winter postseason championships. Read more on Section VI going to cashless ticket sales here.
Wisconsin
WSAW Channel 7 in Wisconsin reports that since the pandemic, more and more schools are moving to touchless ticketing:
The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) and the Wisconsin Valley Conference will be moving to mobile ticketing for upcoming postseason events.
The move continues the trend that many schools began at the onset of the pandemic of supplying mobile tickets. Schools like Wausau West and Merrill have been tinkering with mobile ticketing since the limited capacity crowds of fall 2020. Read more here.
