Extra, extra, read all about it! High school theatre departments nationwide are performing much-anticipated spring musicals and showcasing incredible talent. From the beloved Broadway show “Newsies” to the literary classic “Dracula,” students are delighting audiences after months of rehearsing.
Cast members in these productions excel not only in acting but also in singing and dancing – all at the same time. Many schools are taking on highly advanced shows with intricate choreography and dialogue, and students have risen to the challenge with stellar performances.
Audiences attending these productions also enjoy an elevated experience with digital ticketing. In particular, guests can select their desired seats when purchasing tickets just as they would for a professional show.
With digital ticketing, school theatre departments can easily schedule and promote events, sell tickets, run reports, and receive profits – saving valuable time to focus more on student development and the creative process.
In case you missed it, check out some of the recent and upcoming musicals being presented by high schools around the country with GoFan:
Students in Orange Beach, Alabama recently performed a youth-friendly adaptation of Disney’s “Newsies,” the 1992 film that inspired the hit Broadway show. Based on the true story of the 1899 Newsboys Strike in New York City, it centers on a group of young newsboys who unite and rebel against injustice in newspaper publishing. The junior version is shortened and adapted for younger audiences while capturing the spirit and energy of the original. The cast included students from elementary through high school, and the performances were held at Orange Beach Performing Arts Center. Read more here.

Fittingly, the talented cast performed the show during the weekend of Earth Day at Daphne High School’s Trojan Theatre. Read more here.
