Vestavia Hills High School: Elevating Fan Engagement

Vestavia Hills High School: Elevating Fan Engagement

“Once a Rebel, Always a Rebel,” Laura Casey is a graduate of Vestavia Hills High School, where she is now Assistant Principal. Prior to her new role as Assistant Principal, Casey served as an Assistant Athletic Director for six years and taught chemistry for 16 years while coaching softball and girls basketball.

In her time as an Assistant Athletic Director, Casey especially enjoyed supporting her students as they compete in the sports they love. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated her passion and commitment to being there for the Vestavia Hills students and community.

As an early adopter of the NFHS Network and GoFan, Vestavia Hills High School elevates the event experience for their fans. With the NFHS Network, Vestavia Hills fans never miss a moment with access to live and on-demand broadcasts.

“For us, it was making sure our grandparents and fans who couldn’t get to the school were able to watch,” Casey said. “It’s been a great product for us.”

While the NFHS Network empowers Vestavia Hills fans to watch events wherever they are, GoFan enhances the in-person experience with digital ticketing.

Casey praises GoFan for how easy the platform is to use for her staff and community. She and her team have also reduced costs associated with event management thanks to digital payments and a streamlined process at the gate.

“For us, it was ease of use,” Casey said. “We were really trying to get away from using cash because of the cost to us for workers, for ordering cash - there’s a lot of logistics involved in that.”

Along with the user-friendly product, Casey appreciates the relationships she and her colleagues have built with our Customer Success team.

“We love the GoFan folks,” Casey said. “We have had great relationships with GoFan, which is what keeps us here. In our business, relationships are everything.”

Along with streaming and digital ticketing, Vestavia Hills High School has strengthened connections with fans and promoted their students with rSchoolToday athletic scheduling.

“Just being able to connect our fans with our students. The best way we can promote our student-athletes and get them out there - that’s what we want to do,” Casey said.
